Book review: Before I wake by Rachel Vincent

Before I wake (Soul Screamers #6)
Author: Rachel Vincent
Pages: 339
Goodreads AVG Rating: 4.44
 Kindle Ed.
Summary: l Add here
I died on a Thursday-killed by a monster intent on stealing my soul. The good news? He didn't get it. The bad news? Turns out not even death will get you out of high school...  Covering up her own murder was one thing, but faking life is much harder than Kaylee Cavanaugh expected. After weeks spent "recovering," she's back in school, fighting to stay visible to the human world, struggling to fit in with her friends and planning time alone with her new reaper boyfriend. But to earn her keep in the human world, Kaylee must reclaim stolen souls, and when her first assignment brings her face-to-face with an old foe, she knows the game has changed. Her immortal status won't keep her safe. And this time
Kaylee isn't just gambling with her own life..

I bet this has to be the part where I start talking about why I loved this book so much. But I can't do that.
Because I'm heartbroken! I HATED THIS BOOK! because I loved it a lot! And the only way I can love a book "a lot" is because I have cry.
... Err... I think I'm confused!
Okay, lets start again.
To be honest, my favorite book of the Soul Screamers was My soul to steal. I know most of the people prefer If I die, because of some reaper around there. Well, I don't!
My soul to steal was EXCITING!!!
I never felt something like that again till I read Before I wake!
Oh man! that book killed me! My life won't be the same.
I can't even say the right words to describe how incredible it was!.

1. The characters were even more mature.
2. Sabine Campbell is the most honest girl I've met. And maybe she became my fave character.
3. Emma was... just GREAT!
4. I started loving Tod again.
5. Nash wasn't forgotten
6. Kaylee FINALLY woke up!

“The three of you are enough to drive a mara mad.'She can wear my shirt," she growled in an imitation of Nash."No,she can wear my shirt,"she said switching to Tod's smoother tone. Then Sabine took off down the hall without a glance at any of us."I have a spare.Come on, Kaylee, before I choke on testosterone and melodrama.”

The cover is AMAZING. The summary don't spoil anything. And for the first time in this series I CRIED!

Rachel Vincent did it again!
If I thought the other books were creepy it was because I hadn't read this. I love love love love this world of evil people!
It was cruel and maybe that was my favorite part of all. I could feel. I was scared. I was excited. I was crying in the end!!!.
I knew since the beginning that this story will be beyond amazing.
I even LOVED the helions! Yeah! ME!!! the girl who pefer the good boys!

“You're not lost, Kaylee. You can't ever be lost, because I'll always know where you are. And if I'm not there with you, I'm on my way, and nothing standing between us ill be standing for very long.”

*Sigh* No more I can say. This book is one of those you have to discover by yourself.
Just THIS IS A MUST READ
I finally found the perfect team ever!

PS: THANK YOU ADDIE!!!!!!

“Why? Why is this happening to me?" Sophie asked.
Sabine rolled her eyes. "Because you're the beautiful fairy princess and the evil Lord of Hell can't secure his kingdom until he's feasted from your flesh and slaked his thirst with tea brewed from the ashes of your incinerated bones."
Nash groaned, and Tod laughed out loud.
Sophie hiccuped, and turned to me, frowning. "Is she serious?”
(Can't help it! I loved Bina!)

Book review: My soul to steal by Rachel Vincent

Title: My soul to steal (Soul Screamers #4)
Author: Rachel Vincent
Status: Fast read
Goodreads AVG Rating: 4.16
Summary: Add here
Trying to work things out with Nash—her maybe boyfriend—is hard enough for Kaylee Cavanaugh. She can't just pretend nothing happened. But "complicated" doesn't even begin to describe their relationship when his ex-girlfriend transfers to their school, determined to take Nash back.
See, Sabine isn't just an ordinary girl. She's a mara, the living personification of a nightmare. She can read people's fears—and craft them into nightmares while her victims sleep. Feeding from human fear is how she survives.
And Sabine isn't above scaring Kaylee and the entire school to death to get whatever—and whoever—she wants...

My thoughts.
Where to start?
 Mmm... I really don't know!
My soul to steal was one of those book I couldn't stop reading. Plus, it was getting better page by page.
I can't believe I waited so long to read it.
This book wasn’t just impossible to stop, it was also not expected. My feelings are more confuses in this than those in the previous one. I have always thought and felt that I was Team Tod, but I can not help feeling guilty and sad about Nash. I was really mad at Kaylee for not forgive him. And I felt really sorry for him… and at the same time, I understand her!

In other hand, I finally  met the Mara. And let me tell you that that was another motive of confusion. I hated Sabine from the start, but at the end of the book, I felt pity for her, and the horrible life she has had.
If that was not enough, the things that happened to Kaylee have make me admire her as the strongest heroine I've ever met. I believed I would die “Team Katniss”, but now Kaylee is about to defeat her!
This girl is strong, smart, sencible. That's all a character need to be remembered and loved by the readers. Rachel has done an outstanding job to give her all the qualities, yet making her seem as human as us with her jealousy and insecurity.

The action never stops, better, it becomes more intense, to the point of leaving you with that horrible feeling in my stomach every time something is about to happen.
The new characters are great. They  have different histories, with admirable personalities. A mention of honor for Alec and Emma, I love them.
In fact, I love everything about this book. After small “fail” in My soul to save, this series has become increasingly better and worthy of the title MUST TO READ!

Book review: My soul to keep by Rachel Vincent

Title: My soul to keep (Soul Screamers #3)
Author: Rachel Vincent
Status: Fast-read
Goodreads AVG Rating: 4.12
Summary: Kaylee has one addiction: her very hot, very popular boyfriend, Nash. A banshee like Kaylee, Nash understands her like no one else. Nothing can come between them.Until something does.Demon breath. No, not the toothpaste-challenged kind. The Netherworld kind. The kind that really can kill you. Somehow the super-addictive substance has made its way to the human world. But how? Kaylee and Nash have to cut off the source and protect their friends—one of whom is already hooked. And so is someone else...

 My thoughts.
First off. I’m so glad I didn’t skip this book!!! Yeah, I was thinking about that before cause I didn’t have a copy. But thank my “book mama” I could have it and read it.
I really have mixed thoughts about this one.
In one hand. I hated Nash and all his change of actitud and all the creepy things he did. And I love Tod and the his role in Kaylee’s life.
But my thoughts are really impossible to separate… in the other hand. What the hell? First. I think a part of this was Tod and Kaylee’s fault, because they were who enter in the Netherword. Nash even didn’t want to go there when Kaylee had the idea. So, why do they have to treat Nash so bad? Why can't they understand him? After all, he is human –well, no really, but you know what I mean- and he can make mistakes.
That’s why I totally don’t like the idea of Tod being the “hero” And don’t misunderstand my words I love Tod and he’s my favorite. But this time even though Nash was a total asshole, I feel so sorry for him.
Addie… I hate her, no more. She is one of the persons that ruined… on man, I don’t know, I just hate her!
I love love love the topic of “addiction” that’s so really mature, I’m so glad Rachel talked about this and show us the change in the people when they’re addict to something.
This was a fast read, very refreshing. The plot was incredible. And the characters very realistic and well created.
This is one of my favorite books. I though after My soul to save I won’t be able to enjoy the other books, but shut up myself. This was more than good!
No one can be disappointed in this book. It's a pleasant reading.

Book review: My soul to save, Rachel Vincent

Title: My soul to save (Soul Screamers #2)
Author: Rachel Vincent
Status: Re-read
Goodreads AVG Rating: 3.99
Summary:
When Kaylee Cavanaugh screams, someone dies. So when teen pop star Eden croaks onstage and Kaylee doesn’t wail, she knows something is dead wrong. She can’t cry for someone who has no soul.
The last thing Kaylee needs right now is to be skipping school, breaking her dad’s ironclad curfew and putting her too-hot-to-be-real boyfriend’s loyalty to the test. But starry-eyed teens are trading their souls: a flickering lifetime of fame and fortune in exchange for eternity in the Netherworld—a consequence they can’t possibly understand.
Kaylee can’t let that happen, even if trying to save their souls means putting her own at risk...

My thoughts.
When I read My soul to take I was so happy I finally found a different series. I have to admit I just read it, because my dear friend Kelly is totally in love with these books. But then, I met Kaylee and Nash and Tod and I knew I could fall too.
Unfortunately, I didn't love this book the same way I love My soul to take. Maybe, because it was all focused on save Addison, but I can't help it. I wasn't sorry for her. She was too much stupid to be in that situation.
Anyway, I enjoyed to know a little more about Tod, I was Team Tod since the first book and now I'm sure about that. At the same time I liked the relationship Kaylee-Nash. It was better in this story.
Another thing I enjoyed a lot was the look into the Netherword, it was creepy and it feels like something for a mature book.
The characters were good. I just didn't love Addison, but the others were well created and realistics. I loved that Kaylee was brave enought to go the Netherword all alone, even though she new it was a dangerous place.
This was a fast reading after all. And I can't wait to read the others. I've just heard My soul to steal is nothing but amazing.
I really hope I can love the others like I love the 1st!
I want more Tod.
More Soul Screamers!
And more romance, but the kind of romance I love.
In the end, it was good. But not amazing!

Book Review: My soul to take by Rachel Vincent

Title: My soul to take (Soul Screamers #1)
Author: Rachel Vincent
Pages: 279
Goodreads AVG Rating: 3.98
Status: Re-Read
Summary: She doesn't see dead people. She senses when someone near her is about to die. And when that happens, a force beyond her control compels her to scream bloody murder. Literally.
Kaylee just wants to enjoy having caught the attention of the hottest guy in school. But a normal date is hard to come by when Nash seems to know more about her need to scream than she does. And when classmates start dropping dead for no apparent reason, only Kaylee knows who'll be next

My thoughts.
This book took me to a place I hadn't explored before, where the Author let us met the Bansshe of mythology AKA--> Bean Sidhes, women known as "the Heralds of death". Kaylee is one of them -but she didn't know it- until a wave of unexpected death put her in the eye of the hurricane ...
This is how this story begins well established, where old legend become something new, modern and fresh.
The book is narrated from the point of view of Kaylee, who is one of the most "cute" heroines I've met, is strong, although she has lived with lies most of the time. She's also real and is not depressed-type despite the fact that her song-or-cry is a cry of pain for a soul who is about to leave this world.

I have to say that My soul to take is not just a book fast, agile, with great action, mystery, good characters and a bit of drama. It also has one of the most romantic relationships that I liked. Although for my frustration I think the romance went too fast with no opportunity for the players to enjoy a little bit of flirting. Nash is strong and oh surprise! Very sexy. And the way he and Kaylee take their relationship makes it look like a support and a good friend.

I note also the appearance of Tod ... guess who? An angel of death ... and much more than that, I think one that I liked most. The other characters are charming, perhaps typical, but were never out of place. And the end ... AMAZING! The most unusual, I was not surprised ... even though I was not expecting it, I never imagined that would happen, but it doesn't surprised me! What's wrong with me?Finally, I have to say ... I highly recommend it, It's amazing!
