My thoughts.

To be completely honest, I don't know what to think about this one.
It wasn't that it wasn't good, but I was expecting something more exciting.
Tahereh's writing is as gorgeous and touching as always, but in some way I couldn't truly connect with Adam.
I did surprise me once, because we never knew what happened with Adam and the others when Juliette was busy being killed by Anderson. And what happened was devasting and so sad, but that didn't help to the fact that Adam is not as swoon-worthy as Warner.
I was shocked to see that Kenji saved the story and did seem to care more about Juliette than Adam, but poor Adam, I understand how was he feeling. I understand him, and I love him and I hope he has his happy ending.
But... I feel so sad to say that I enjoyed more the excerpt from Ignite me that the actual novella. I don't know what really happened, this wasn't what I expected.

My POV.

My feelings:

Okay since this was a birthday present, I started Reading it with all the love I have in my heart, plus I’ve been waiting it since a year ago. So the right word to say how I was feeling was: excited!

I’m not going to lie; I devoured this book just to read the infamous CHAPTER 62 as soon as possible. Hell yes! I was running through the chapters, I needed to read that one!

But my biggest surprise was that I loved every chapter, it doesn’t matter all the anxiety to reach chapter 62, I loved every word, every line of Unravel me.

The plot:

I loved more about the plot was Juliette thoughts, of course. Yes, I loved the action, the drama, the development, but I enjoyed Juliette’s ways to think, to see the world around her.

Those shitty thoughts she had sometimes. Those things that made her unique.

She’s lost, the feel alone, and yet, she always finds a way to see the good side of people. I think I never see any other character as good as her.

So, she had to control her power and the people at Omega Point was there to help her. Specially Kenji, who (to be honest) I never cared about. But this time, Tahereh gave us a plot where we can see how Juliette is growing and starting to feel stronger.

The main characters:

Juliette: I said enough about Juliette already.

Adam: Oh! Poor sweetest thing alive!! I love love love Adam, I always see him as that strong boy who saved Juliette, that sexy man who drives her crazy. It started this way. But while I read more and more pages, I saw a side of Adam that I never expected. He’s lost and he loves Juliette too much to give up on her, but life is a mess and always is screwing with the best personas.

Warner: “You destroy me” hot hot hot hot hot hot hot hot hottest man ever. What can I say about Warner that somebody ignores? You have to read Destroy me to realized how difficult is his life, how broken is him, and how much he’s just like Juliette. So please, do not hate him, he deserves a chance because he is as victim of his father as everyone else.

Kenji: He is so honest that you can't help but love him! Juliette really needed someone like him to make her see her reality.

The romance:

Before that burning amazing chapter 62, there was a pretty lovely love moment between Adam and Juliette that makes us melt.

The romance was the best a great factor in this book. If there is a thing that I really love about female POV is the passion that some of them put on that scenes. That’s why I love Mara Dyer, she is so passionate when she describes her feelings, that why I love Juliette. I love the manner the made that scenes swoon-worthy.

The ending:

Another “hell yes!” for the ending. That last line is memorable! I can’t wait to read book 3. I can’t wait to know what is going to happen.

Final thoughts:

Unravel me is one of the best books I’ve read. Mafi’s writing style makes Juliette’s voice remarkable and unique. Expect for great characters, a beautiful prose and utterly shocking moments that will stay with you until the day you read that last word.

Rock on! The author of March: Tahereh Mafi

 

Welcome to the celebration of my favorite books of this year.

Each day, I will be featuring my favorite book and author of each month. And at the end of this celebration you'll have the chance to win a hardback copy of a book by one of my favorite authors.

March was the month of my birthday. And even though I got some awesome books for my birthday, the most awesome of those was Shatter me. I read the book (kindle) on January, but was still March when I get the paperback copy of it. And I coudn't help but keep that awesome cover in the front of my shelf. 

I re-read Shatter me twice that month and Tahereh become my favorite author of that month.

 

Tahereh Mafi is a girl. She’s 24. She was born the youngest child with four older brothers in a small city somewhere in Connecticut, and currently resides in Orange County, California. She graduated from a tiny liberal arts college two miles from the shores of Laguna Beach, has varying levels of competency in eight different languages, and spent a semester abroad in Barcelona, Spain, where she had the opportunity to study Spanish literature in its native form.

Mafi has traveled all over the world, lived on both sides of the United States, and even spent some years writing really bad poetry. When unable to find a book, she can be found reading candy wrappers, coupons, and old receipts.

But when Warner’s father, The Supreme Commander of The Reestablishment, arrives to correct his son’s mistakes, it’s clear that he has much different plans for Juliette. Plans Warner simply cannot allow.
