Fashion me: Dressing like Marina/Em from All Our Yesterdays

Fashion me is blog segment where characters teach us how to dress.
Do you wanna dress like a book character? Well, this is the perfect place to start.

Hello there!
Today Marina and Em from All our yesterdays will teach us how to dress in two different situations. Check it out!

Marina
You know, when your fighting to keep the boy you love alive, there isn't enough time to get properly dressed... Marina knows about it.

"The dress is deep blue and sparkly, like the sky twenty minutes after the sunset, filled with ten thousand stars"
Which turned out:
"Not caring about the years of embedded dirt I’m getting on my beautiful dress. Somewhere I lost one of Sophie’s shoes, and a bruise is rapidly darkening on my arm, which I don’t remember hitting"
***
"I put the phone on speaker and rest it on my dresser as I change into pajamas. Mom hates it when I wear pajamas to dinner. These were a gift from Luz, and my skin sighs in relief when I slip out of the suffocating skinny jeans Tamsin insisted I buy and into the cheap, soft fleece."
***
"I come out of the bathroom stall clad in jeans and a sweater to find Luz leaning against the sink, arms crossed over her chest"

Em
And then, when you travel in time you realize how little clothing matters.

"Despite my ratty jeans and hair that hasn’t been washed for days, no one at this high-class D.C. law firm says a word about my odd presence."
 ***
"My prisoner slippers are thin, but they’ll get me wherever we’re going"

The book

What would you change?
Imprisoned in the heart of a secret military base, Em has nothing except the voice of the boy in the cell next door and the list of instructions she finds taped inside the drain. Only Em can complete the final instruction. She’s tried everything to prevent the creation of a time machine that will tear the world apart. She holds the proof: a list she has never seen before, written in her own hand. Each failed attempt in the past has led her to the same terrible present—imprisoned and tortured by a sadistic man called the doctor while war rages outside.
Marina has loved her best friend, James, since they were children. A gorgeous, introverted science prodigy from one of America’s most famous families, James finally seems to be seeing Marina in a new way, too. But on one disastrous night, James’s life crumbles, and with it, Marina’s hopes for their future. Marina will protect James, no matter what. Even if it means opening her eyes to a truth so terrible that she may not survive it... at least, not as the girl she once was. Em and Marina are in a race against time that only one of them can win.

All Our Yesterdays is a wrenching, brilliantly plotted story of fierce love, unthinkable sacrifice, and the infinite implications of our every choice.

Now GO! and read All Our Yesterdays.

Fashion me #4: Dressing like Rhine from Wither

Fashion me is blog segment where characters teach us how to dress.
Do you wanna dress like a book character? Well, this is the perfect place to start.

Hello there!
Welcome again to Fashion me!
Have you seen the covers for The Chemical Garden trilogy? Yes? Then you already know how awesome the dress of the girl on the cover is.
So, today I want to teach you how to dress like Rhine from Wither, the first book
Check it out and take note!

"The dress is strapless, shaped like the top of a heart at my collarbone. The train is V shaped. And I suppose, from an aerial view."
*****
"I’m dressed in a fitted red dress that matches the color of my lips, with black lace around the collar and capped sleeves. The dress only falls to
about midthigh, and Deirdre tugs at the material to be sure it drapes properly."
*****
"I dry my hair and dress in jeans, and a sweater that feels like heaven to touch."
*****
"It’s a muted, shimmering pink with a hemline meant to simulate snowdrifts. The shawl glitters with pearls. She does my makeup to match."
*****
"My dress is a short strapless number, in a shimmering aqua with black pearls sewn into vaguely floral firework shapes up one side. A black
pearl choker wraps around my throat, and black leggings and gloves will keep me warm against the biting January cold. Deirdre tops if off with
a black ribbon for my hair, to go over the baby’s breath, and a light coat of glitter..."

Fashion me #3 Dressing like Karou from Daughter of Smoke and Bone

Fashion me is new blog segment where characters teach us how to dress.
Do you wanna dress like a book character? Well, this is the perfect place to start.

Hello there!
Welcome again to Fashion me! This week, I'll show you how to dress like a reincarnated chimera with blue hair (AKA: Karou) and amazing tatoos.
With this outfit you'll drive every angel crazy!
So, check this out and dress like Karou from Laini Taylor's Daughter of Smoke and bone!

"Yasri and Issa had taken her boots off, along with her coat and sweater, so she was wearing only bandages and a blood-streaked camisole and jeans."

"She was wearing nothing but soaked jeans and a filmy white camisole gone see-through where it clung to her skin. Her hair clumped in blue coils around her neck, like Issa’s serpents, and rust-streaked bandages hung loose from her shoulders. Against the blood, her skin looked translucent..."

"She was dressed in black: slim-fitting wool trousers with boots, and a vintage leather trench belted at the waist. There was a satchel slung across her shoulder, her hair was smoothed back in a single braid, and she wore no makeup."

"Curling her legs under her and tucking down the hem of her orange dress..."

Fashion me #2 Dressing like Juliette from Shatter me.

Fashion me is new blog segment where characters teach us how to dress.
Do you wanna dress like a book character? Well, this is the perfect place to start.

Hello!
Today I'll show you to how to dress like a pretty dystopian kick ass girl. Juliette!... and while you're here, who knows maybe you'll learn to look like someone Adam or Warner could madly fall in love with :)
Check it out!

"I’m wearing dead cotton on my limbs and a blush of roses on my face."

*****

"I’m wearing a dress the color of dead forests and old tin cans.
The fit is tighter than anything I’ve worn in my life, the cut modern and angular, almost haphazard; the material is stiff and thick but somehow
breathable. I stare at my legs and wonder that I own a pair."

*****

" I’m wearing someone else’s T-shirt. Someone else’s pajama pants. Someone else’s slippers"

*****

"There’s built-in lining for where underwear is supposed to
be, extra support for my chest, a collar that goes right up to my neck, sleeves that touch my wrists, legs that touch my ankles, a zipper that pulls it all
together. I examine the ultrathin material. It feels like I’m wearing nothing. It’s the richest shade of purple, skintight but not tight at all. It’s breathable,
oddly comfortable."

*****

"I always choose a dress with pockets because I don’t know where else to store my notebook."

Now, get ready! Dress like Juliette!

"Stripping out of my torn, dirty shirt and jeans, I headed into the bathroom.
After a long shower, I left my filthy clothes in a heap on the floor, changed into the dark pants and shirt in the closet –did every vampire in this place wear black?"

"I certainly gave off the image of the sullen, brooding troublemaker -ripped jeans, shirt turned inside out, pierced ears and defiant smirk firmly in place."

Now, check out the book and add it to your Goodreads TBR list.
Summary.

In Allison Sekemoto's world, there is one rule left: Blood calls to blood

She has done the unthinkable: died so that she might continue to live. Cast out of Eden and separated from the boy she dared to love, Allie will follow the call of blood to save her creator, Kanin, from the psychotic vampire Sarren. But when the trail leads to Allie's birthplace in New Covington, what Allie finds there will change the world forever-and possibly end human and vampire existence.

There's a new plague on the rise, a strain of the Red Lung virus that wiped out most of humanity generations ago-and this strain is deadly to humans and vampires alike. The only hope for a cure lies in the secrets Kanin carries, if Allie can get to him in time.

Allison thought that immortality was forever. But now, with eternity itself hanging in the balance, the lines between human and monster will blur even further, and Allie must face another choice she could never have imagined having to make.
