What's New? Collide by Michelle Madow

I've read some books by Michelle Madow before and I've really enjoyed them. But when I saw the cover of Collide, there was something that caught my attention right away.
This book sounds really cool, so I hope it doesn't disappoint. I'm really looking forward to it, and if you like stories about parallel universes, then you have to add it to Goodreads or pre-order it.
Check it out!

Expected publication: February 9th 2017 by Dreamscape Publishing

I should have died when I was shot at the Halloween dance.

Instead I woke up—one week earlier, in a parallel universe where my mom's fatal car accident six months ago never happened.

A world with my mom still in it was all I ever wanted. But in this timeline, everything is different—my grades, my friends, and even my boyfriend. I'm a stranger in my own body, and I don’t like who I’ve become.

But one thing is the same—that shooting will still happen at the end of the week.

I'm the only one who knows. Which means I'm the only one who can stop it.

But first I need to convince someone—anyone—that I’m telling the truth... and then get them to help me.

About the Author:

Michelle Madow has always loved writing stories, but the possibility of being an author used to feel more like a dream than a reality. She didn’t share her stories with anyone until her junior year of college, when she signed up for an Intro to Creative Writing course. Her teacher and classmates read the first chapter of a book idea she had, and they loved it so much that they told her she had to finish the book so they could find out what happened next. By the end of the school year, Michelle finished that book, which would later be published as her first novel, Remembrance.

Michelle grew up in Baltimore, and now lives in Boca Raton, Florida, where she writes books for young adults. Some of her favorite things are: reading, pizza, traveling, shopping, time travel, Broadway musicals, and spending time with friends and family. Michelle has toured across America to promote her books and to encourage high school students to embrace reading and writing. Someday, she hopes to travel the world for a year on a cruise ship.

***This eARC was provided for review, Thanks so much to Harlequin Teen***

Okay, I don’t even know how to start because I have a bitter sweet relationship with this book.
In one hand, I loved Michelle’s writing, just like I remember from her Transcend Time Saga. The descriptions the world-building, the differences between each character, everything was perfect.
Michelle Madow is an amazing story teller. I loved how she told the story… but the story indeed was my problem.
I don’t even think the book is bad; it’s just not for me.
I was expecting just too much about it, and I got zero of all the things I wanted it to be.
First off, the characters: they were shallow and immature; I don’t remember I could connect with any of them. Courtney was “the less” annoying, even though I thought I would love Payton better, because she was the “bad girl” but she wasn’t, she was just mean.
Then, the plot: I didn’t even know what the plot was, because everything about this book was: talk about boys, think about boys, buy things, got to the spa, go to my gym… and repeat. Courtney and Brett were the only couple actually “doing” something.
Oh, did I mention the insta-love part?
I really feel bad that I didn’t enjoy this book like I thought, because I even signed to be part of the Street Team. But the major problem came when I reached the ending… because it didn’t feel like an ending, it was just like the author decided to cut the story there and make the readers wait another year to know more about… I don’t know. I got zero action. I got zero “real” drama. I got zero answered questions. I got zero “closure”
My 3 stars rating goes mainly to Michelle Madow’s awesome writing.
Maybe if the story was different I would have enjoyed it better, sadly I didn’t.
But like I said, this book wasn’t for me, but maybe you’ll like it. I heard a lot of people found it entertaining.
Go, try it!
