Some Books Ago: Dualed by Elsie Chapman

Every Tuesday I post about the new books I discover. So, I wanted to give a shout out to all those books published some years ago, I don't want to you to forget them!

Hi there! For today's Some Books Ago, I've been thinking about this book: Dualed. Can you believe that I DNF the eARC of this book and I don't remember why? It still says "to-read" on my GR list, so I guess someday I can give it a second chance (second chances work amazing for me!). Have you read it?
Check it out!

Dualed was published on February 26th 2013 by Random House

Summary:

Two of you exist. Only one will survive.

The city of Kersh is a safe haven, but the price of safety is high. Everyone has a genetic Alternate—a twin raised by another family—and citizens must prove their worth by eliminating their Alts before their twentieth birthday. Survival means advanced schooling, a good job, marriage—life.

Fifteen-year-old West Grayer has trained as a fighter, preparing for the day when her assignment arrives and she will have one month to hunt down and kill her Alt. But then a tragic misstep shakes West’s confidence. Stricken with grief and guilt, she’s no longer certain that she’s the best version of herself, the version worthy of a future. If she is to have any chance of winning, she must stop running not only from her Alt, but also from love . . . though both have the power to destroy her.

  1. I haven't read this one, but sometimes it is good to give books a second chance. I have DNF'd books before and gone back and liked them. Sometimes I still hated them too lol. :P

    1. Me too, but I don't DNF books. And since I don't remember why I broke my rule with it, I want to try it again someday :)

  2. I have this one! And the sequel, too. Never got around to reading them (they weren't review copies), but I hope to someday.

    Great post, Lis!

  3. I LOVE seeing older books on people's blogs. Sometimes I feel like my blog feed is SO blah because everyone is talking about the same books. Don't get me wrong, I love the excitement of new books, but I also LOVE when I get reminded of older books.

Anyhow, I remember this book- I don't read a ton of books like this, but I'm always trying to find things out of my comfort zone to read :)
