I love these authors so much that when I Heard they were going to write
a YA book together, I just couldn’t wait!
This, however, changed a little when I read there were going to be three
novellas and the first of them wasn’t as awesome as I expected. Don’t get me
wrong, I gave it 4 stars, even though it was only an introduction to the
mysterious things going on between the main characters.
Never Never Part 1, is the introduction to the weird things happening
around Miles and his girlfriend Charlie. They both lose their memories every 48
hours and of course, they don’t have an idea why, so they start looking for answers.
Never Never Part 2, gives us some answers. After another set of amnesia,
Miles goes looking for Charlie because she’s missing. I might say that this novella
was my favorite. There are some creepy moments, there’s mystery, some new
characters. I had a feeling something paranormal was happening and I enjoyed it
so much!
Never Never Part 3, was disappointing. I never expected this coming from
Tarryn and Colleen. I was expecting something that keeps me on the edge of my
seat, something to give me butterflies, something that makes me want to scream.
Yeah, there were some swoon-worthy moments. But, what about the mystery?
And
those hints about paranormal stuff? And the big revelation?
The answer to the biggest mystery of all was so EASY. I wanted to laugh
when I read it. I thought, “Well, I wasn’t expecting that,” because I was
expecting something better!
There might be people glad with the ending, thinking it was sweet and
cute but I can’t forget how all the intrigue was for nothing.
What started like a page turned with the vibe of a thriller ended up
being disappointing.
It was entertaining, though, that’s all I can say.
Sorry it was a little disappointing. At least it was enjoyable though! :)
ReplyDeleteIt was, but I'm sad I didn't love it.
DeleteEeep, it's too bad when you're SO excited about something, and then it isn't quite as good! As soon as I saw that this would be release as serial novellas, I was out. I don't want to waste my money (and time too) like that. :/ So I shall be skipping!
ReplyDeleteLovely review, Lis. :)

Oh, that's the worst! I feel like I wasted my money and time.

ReplyDeleteI hate when a author builds you up then doesn't follow through. Glad to know I can skip this one guilt free.

Yeah, you won't be missing much.
DeleteI read part one because it was free in the Kindle store, and while I thought it was an intriguing start, it wasn't enough to push me to read the rest of the books. I think splitting it was more of a ploy than anything else.
ReplyDeleteIve heard the ending wasn't as good as it should have been from multiple reviewers as well. So you're not alone.
I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one, it was such a disappointment.
