Summary/ Add here.
Young Jane Silverlake
lives with her father in a crumbling family estate on the edge of
Hampstead Heath. Jane has a secret—an unexplainable gift that allows her
to see the souls of man-made objects—and this talent isolates her from
the outside world. Her greatest joy is wandering the wild heath with her
neighbors, Madeline and Nathan. But as the friends come of age, their
idyll is shattered by the feelings both girls develop for Nathan, and by
Nathan’s interest in a cult led by Ariston Day, a charismatic mystic
popular with London’s elite. Day encourages his followers to explore
dream manipulation with the goal of discovering a strange hidden world, a
place he calls the Empyrean.
A year later, Nathan has vanished,
and the famed Inspector Vidocq arrives in London to untangle the events
that led up to Nathan’s disappearance. As a sinister truth emerges, Jane
realizes she must discover the origins of her talent, and use it to
find Nathan herself, before it’s too late
My POV
The White Forest is a haunting good read. I was thrilled to discover every part of this awesome and magic world. It was like hell so difficult to write this review, coz I can’t really find the words to describe how amazing it was.
Have you read a book and felt that your heart is on a race? Have you ever questioned yourself about every part you read, what will be happen next page? Have you felt itching to catch the next chapter? Yes/No, whatever. You’ll feel that way when you start reading The White Forest.
I won’t say a word about the plot. I can’t and I don’t want to. This is one of those books I would like you to discover by yourself. And I really mean it. It almost the time to have it everywhere books are sold. And once you see it. Get it. I bet you won’t be disappointed.
The characters were realistic, unique and complex. Beautiful and scary at the same time. I was trapped in their own universe, in their essence. I felt like I know them, like they were a part of my life in another life-another time.
Great dialogues and a story-line rich and well created. It’s been a while since the last time I read a book like this. You’ll be speechless; you’ll have your heart in your hand.
The author created an enchanted atmosphere. His writing was comforting and charming. Almost magical.
In fact, every part of this book was excellent. A little of everything. Fantasy, romance, action, good characters, and amazing world and a beautiful writing style. You cannot miss it. You have to meet this haunting and pretty world.
And now I have to say it again! What on earth is happening to me?? This isn’t a contemporary book, this is set in the 19th century London! And I loved it!
It was dark and gothic and… I didn’t want to say, but I loved Nathan…
The end!
