The Chic
Boutique on Baker Street is fresh and fast paced read about a woman trying to
start a new life after a big delusion in her city life.
Amanda,
the main character, is a very likable woman with a broken heart who decides to
move to the rather traditional Westfield in search of a better and more comfortable
life. After being a lawyer all her life, Amanda is very pleased with her craft
shop, only it could be better is golden boy of town, Ben, the vet next door
wasn’t stealing all her thoughts.
I really
liked how this book was narrated, it felt simple and light. This book is told
in various POVs, unraveling little by little about the characters’ past and
what are the motivations behind their actions.
One of
my favorite things about this book is the setting. Westfield comes to life in
the actions of these eccentric and colorful characters, especially Agatha and
her group of friends. They plan a variety of brilliant schemes to see Ben and
Amanda together, even though they aren’t looking for love. And that was fun and
fantastic to read.
The book
is complete with some unexpected twists and turns and a very satisfying ending.
The only thing I didn’t like about The Chic Boutique on Baker Street, is
the shifts in the POV, they somehow felt disorganized, like, they change in the
same chapter in the most unexpected moment and sometimes it was difficult to know
who was thinking what.
Except for that, The Chic Boutique on Baker Street is an enjoyable read
that will please fans of romance and summer-like reads.
Great review. I don't think this is for me, but it does look very cute and fluffy. I'm glad you enjoyed it. :o)
