Some Books Ago: Masque of the Red Death by Bethany Griffin

Every Tuesday I post about the new books I discover. So, I wanted to give a shout out to all those books published some years ago, I don't want to you to forget them!

Hi there! I hope you all have a great weekend!
I was checking my to-read list on GoodReads and found Masque of the Red Death, which was one of the very first books I added. I was dying to read it because I read the original story when I was in school (we didn't read much here), so this was going to be my first re-telling... but I never had the chance.
Have you read it? If not, check it out!

Masque of the Red Death was published on April 24th 2012 by Greenwillow Books

Summary:

Everything is in ruins.

A devastating plague has decimated the population, and those who are left live in fear of catching it as the city crumbles around them.

So what does Araby Worth have to live for?

Nights in the Debauchery Club, beautiful dresses, glittery makeup . . . and tantalizing ways to forget it all.

But in the depths of the club—in the depths of her own despair—Araby will find more than oblivion. She will find Will, the terribly handsome proprietor of the club, and Elliott, the wickedly smart aristocrat. Neither is what he seems. Both have secrets. Everyone does.

And Araby may find not just something to live for, but something to fight for—no matter what it costs her.

  1. I really enjoyed this book, but I couldn't get into it's sequel no matter how much I tried. Great choice this week though!

  2. Aaah, I remember I also wanted to read this book back in the day. Everybody was raving about it but I didn't have much money back then to buy it (neither right now tbh LOL). If I ever see it on sale somewhere, I might have to buy it!

  5. I read this and the sequel. I agree with Alexis that I enjoyed the first book more, but I thought it was a really original duology!
