This book is for readers and authors alike. I think that’s the first amazing thing about The Anatomy of Curiosity.
Being a huge fan of Maggie Stiefvater, I’ve read almost every story by her I’ve found, and following her blog and facebook page, I found out about the Merry Sisters of Fate, a page where she, Tessa and Brenna used to write short stories.
I LOVED those short stories, so I read A Tale of Curiosities as soon as I got it on my kindle.
But THE ANATOMY OF CURIOSITY was quite different from that collection; it has only three short stories… and the stories behind them.
Those stories are divided in:
Characters (with Ladylike by Maggie Stiefvater)
Worldbuilding (with Desert Canticle by Tessa Gratton)
Ideas (with By Drowning/The Drowning Place by Brenna Yovanoff).

Every story is fantastic (I really loved the three!) and the best part is that the authors let us know their writing process: How the idea came, how they choose the name, how it changed from the first draft.
It answers every question you ever wanted to ask them. And while those are stories you’ll enjoy reading, there’s also tips for writers and their thoughts about some writing topics.
Overall, if you want to know what’s on an author’s mind plus reading some great short stories, then THE ANATOMY OF CURIOSITY is something you’ll definitely enjoy.
