Summary:
Why? is the burning question on everyone’s lips. Why would a guy like Mathéo Walsh want to die? At seventeen, he is Britain’s most promising diving champion. He is a heartthrob, a straight A student and lives in one of the wealthiest areas of London. He has great mates and is the envy of everyone around him. And most importantly of all, he is deeply in love with his girlfriend, Lola. He has always been a stable, well-adjusted guy...
Until one weekend. A weekend he cannot seem to remember. All he knows is that he has come back a changed person. One who no longer knows how to have fun, no longer wants to spend time with his friends, no longer enjoys diving. Something terrible happened that weekend – something violent and bloody and twisted. He no longer knows who he is. He no longer trusts himself around people: he only wants to hurt, wound and destroy. Slowly, he begins to piece back the buried, fragmented memories, and finds himself staring at the reflection of a monster.
Tormented, Mathéo suddenly finds himself faced with the most devastating choice of his life. Keep his secret, and put those closest to him in terrible danger. Or confess, and lose Lola forever...

Hurt by Tabitha Suzuma is a beautiful and heartbreaking story that will leave your heart wrung out, and will keep readers trapped from the first line to the last.
Tabatha’s gorgeous writing tells the story of Mattie, a diving champion whose life has been torn apart after a weekend he can't remember.
Hurt is a emotionally draining rollercoaster with amazing characters, shocking revelations, a beautiful love story and a phenomenal and heart-stopping ending.
Hurt is a thrilling masterpiece that will leave you breathless.

On the personal side.

Okay, for starters I have to say that I was lucky enough to win a signed copy of Hurt from the author (YAY!!).
And since it came to me on Sept. 3rd, I had to stop what I was reading (an ARC of The Iron Traitor by Julie Kagawa, which I am still dying to read) and I immediately started reading this book.
Since Forbidden painful devastating ending, I was expecting the worst coming from this author.
I was sucked on Mattie’s story. I felt in love with him since that terrible prologue, but the author did the best job ever letting us know Mattie’s life before what happened that horrible night. Mattie was funny, loving, charming, so swoon-worthy that is impossible not to fall from him.
So, watching how his life changed completely was painful and then again, it’s impossible not to fall for him.
Lola, Mattie’s girlfriend, is a sweetheart! I won’t lie and say that I loved her all the time. Nope! There was a time when I hated her because Mattie was hers, not mine (yeah, it woke up those feelings on me). But except that little thing, Lola was funny, alive, loyal, the kind of girl you want to be friends with.
Their romantic relationship was beautiful and so special. You can see they’re in love, but that they are best friends, too. You can understand why is so important that they fight against all the bad thing and stay together.
The scenes between Matt and his little brother Loá¼µc were breathtakingly beautiful… in fact, this whole book was beautiful.
The “topic” of this book is not as taboo as Forbidden’s but it’s something I have never read before and it was so intense, unexpected!
I never imagined that Matt’s secret will be that shocking! I am sure everybody will end up jaw-dropping when they realize it.
Sadly, because all those stupid TV shows about investigators and detectives that I watch, I took the clues and I guessed one thing right. I say “This is going to happen” and yep, that happened… so not cool to be me! (DO NOT try to guess! Forget the clues!)
But hey! It was just one thing, because except that, I fooled myself three times!
And then… the ending… OHMYGOSH! Just no! My heart was tearing apart one more time by Tabitha Suzuma.
Now, I have a book hangover. I don’t think I will be able to read anything for the next hours… or days, I am drained.
Now YOU, yes, YOU dear reader that have read my ramblings, GO AHEAD AND BUY THIS BOOK NOW!!!!

Gracias!
