Review by Addison.
First off, as a dystopian reader I have to say that I’m ALWAYS looking for original “dystopian worlds” so, the first thing I notice when I read a book like this is the way the author created the world. Submerged told the story of a nation infected for a terrible virus, living people inside a state divided into sectors. Where everybody has to follow the orders of Troum, a man that promises to save them.
This leads us to the main character: Taylen, a fierce girl that only wants freedom until the day her sister is taken, because of her apparently.

This is the twist the book needed to set off the action. After this, SUBMERGED became the book I was pining for. Full of action, twists, amazing characters and unexpected turns.
The first chapters were a little confusing it took me a while to really understand the way the way the world was created, anyways after that it was really clear and perfectly described.
Taylen is a true heroine. I loved her strength, the way to see the life, how she acts, and how she express herself.
Glate is a sweetheart! I was really happy to met him, though I can say I’m wasn’t really happy that Lex was left behind. Glate was what Tay needed in that moment, and I thing he was so necessary in the story.
I don’t know if this will be weird, but my favorite character was Lex: Tay’s childhood best friend. He is the first thing that leaves me longing for more. I found in Lex something I was looking for in dystopian characters, he is really different. I hope the author gives him a chance in the next book, which, by the way, I’m dying to read.
Another thing I have to emphasize of this book was: the names. It makes the story even more original. I think that if someday I have a baby girl, she will be named Taylen, that name is just so cool!
However, I have to say once more. If you love dystopian books, then you will love SUBMERGED. Nicole Sobon created an amazing story for us, dystopian fans. It will worth the time you spend reading it. And let me tell you, it will be a little time because the writing is so addictive that you won’t be able to put it down.
