*Blog Tour & Interview* The Loop by Shandy Lawson

Helo readers! Welcome to my stop in The Loop by Shandy Lawson blog tour.
I had the awesome chance to interview Shandy.
Check out the interview to know more about The Loop.

Can you share some trivia/tidbits about writing The Loop?
Shandy Lawson: I really wish I had an interesting story here, but honestly I outlined the story in detail, set a daily word-count quota, and wrote every day until I hit that quota. Some days I’d be done in two hours, some days I’d be there until midnight. I guess an interesting item is that my agent at the time was pretty disappointed in the story and we parted ways over it. Luckily I found someone who saw the potential in it, and here I am.

Will there be any unexpected twists readers can look forward to in The Loop?
Shandy Lawson: Of course! But then, they wouldn’t be unexpected if I told you about them, right?

Do you think that we’ll find a new “book boyfriend” in Ben?

Shandy Lawson: I hope so... He’s a good kid. Maybe he could use a little more confidence, but when it matters, he’ll come through for you. Plus, he can cook. Gotta love a guy who can cook!

Describe your book in one word.
Shandy Lawson: Superfastpacedandreallyintense.

How did you get the idea of writing The Loop?
Shandy Lawson: I was just trying to come up with something new. I tossed out a lot of ideas before I came up with Ben and Maggie’s time loop, but I was pretty happy with the concept when I finally landed on it. It was a fun book to write.

When did you realize that you wanted to be an author?
Shandy Lawson: I was very young, maybe four or five, when I started writing my own stories. But I didn’t get serious about it until I was into my thirties.

Can you tell the readers a little about you?
Shandy Lawson: Hmm. I’m food-driven and really into naps, so I guess that makes me sort of dog-like. Though if you throw a tennis ball, I’ll probably just watch it go. I’m not into chasing things.

Why would you recommend The Loop? (as a reader!)
Shandy Lawson: I’m a fan of the pace. It moves quickly, and even when there is no action, it still moves. I get bored easily with books that have me peek a few pages ahead to see when the action picks up again.

I’m an obsessive cover lover and I really like the cover of The Loop. Do you think it matches the story?
Shandy Lawson: I think it does, I like the cover a lot too. It’s bold and catches your eye, and I think it conveys the intensity of the story.

Are you planning on writing a different kind of book after The Loop?
Shandy Lawson: Yes. I’m working on a couple of ideas right now, and both are very different from The Loop, though still in a somewhat similar vein– I wouldn’t call either of them Sci-Fi, but I play around with the rules of reality a bit to give the story an interesting setting. I’m excited to be writing something new.
Ben and Maggie have met, fallen in love, and died together countless times. Over the course of two pivotal days—both the best and worst of their lives—they struggle again and again to resist the pull of fate and the force of time itself. With each failure, they return to the beginning of their end, a wild road trip that brings them to the scene of their own murders and into the hands of the man destined to kill them.
As time circles back on itself, events become more deeply ingrained, more inescapable for the two kids trapped inside the loop. The closer they come to breaking out, the tighter fate’s clutches seem to grip them. They devise a desperate plan to break free and survive the days ahead, but what if Ben and Maggie’s only shot at not dying is surviving apart?
