Cheerleader Isobel Lanley is horrified when she is paired with Varen Nethers for an English project, which is due—so unfair—on the day of the rival game. Cold and aloof, sardonic and sharp-tongued, Varen makes it clear he’d rather not have anything to do with her either. But when Isobel discovers strange writing in his journal, she can’t help but give this enigmatic boy with the piercing eyes another look.
Soon, Isobel finds herself making excuses to be with Varen. Steadily pulled away from her friends and her possessive boyfriend, Isobel ventures deeper and deeper into the dream world Varen has created through the pages of his notebook, a realm where the terrifying stories of Edgar Allan Poe come to life.
As her world begins to unravel around her, Isobel discovers that dreams, like words, hold more power than she ever imagined, and that the most frightening realities are those of the mind. Now she must find a way to reach Varen before he is consumed by the shadows of his own nightmares.
His life depends on it.

My POV!

I feel off inspiration today, I feel emo. I feel Poe.

No true, I’m just kidding. I am so… Well, the point is that I tried twice but I cannot find the words to describe how much I loved this book.
“I told you” my friends said when I went to our group and start telling them how much I loved Nevermore.
Hell yeah, they told me but I didn’t believe I could love it that much.

A black shadow moved in one of the trees, and Isobel registered the silhouette of one huge black bird. It made no sound, though it seemed to watch her from its perch. One of the leaves at its side moved. Another bird. Soon, with a ruffle of feathers, she noticed another and, on her other side, another.
I know everyone loves the cover, I liked it, but I though *silly smile* I thought it was about vampires and I gave a break of vampires… Sure you can think “but you could read the summary, stupid” Yeah, I know. But usually when my friends recommend me a book, I didn’t like to read summary, I want the book to surprise me. And Nevermore did more than I ever I thought.
I bet you already know about this book, and maybe you have read it. But if you haven’t…. what are you waiting for? Don’t be a silly like me!

This was the part that had caused her the most worry. This was the part she’d wanted to warn him about but hadn’t gotten the chance. But they’d had to think of some way to involve Varen so he wouldn’t just be sitting there, some way that he would pick up on.

Look, Poe was creepy and way too awesome. So, what if you can read something Poe-ish in a modern time? That’s Nevermore.
This book is amazing, surprising, haunting beautiful. Kelly’s style is just… WOW!
I know I don’t have a good time expressing myself, but it’s because I LOVED THIS BOOK.
Isobel is a strong heroine, and even thought she is sweet and she had a life before… before she was assigned to Varen, she is brave enough to face what is coming.

“You’re really a blond,” she said, her tone just short of accusatory.
“And if you tell anyone, I will come to you in the night and smote your everlasting soul.”
Promise? Isobel turned back to the piano quickly, shocked that she’d almost uttered this aloud. She distracted herself from the thought by allowing her fingers to ghost over the keys again. “So who plays?” she asked.
His eyes fell to her hand, then to the keys. “Nobody. Like everything else, it’s just for show. It’s not even tuned.”

Varen in the other side is so mysterious, so dark… and heck! Mesmerizing. I couldn’t help but felt for him.
OMG! I don’t know what else to say.
This book is what you need. You need it, even though you don’t know.
The writing is touching, beautiful, intriguing.

EXCEPTIONAL.
YOU HAVE TO READ IT.

  1. I absolutely loved this book! I cannot wait for the sequel to come out. It's been on pre-order for me for at least 6 months. This was absolutely my favorite book from 2010. I was moody for a week after reading it and I spent that time just mulling over the story. I tell everyone they have to read this book, but no one listens. I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
