Book Review: The fault in our stars by John Green

The fault in our stars
Author: John Green
Goodreads AVG Rating: 4.60
Pages: 318
Diagnosed with Stage IV thyroid cancer at 13, Hazel was prepared to die until, at 14, a medical miracle shrunk the tumours in her lungs... for now.
Two years post-miracle, sixteen-year-old Hazel is post-everything else, too; post-high school, post-friends and post-normalcy. And even though she could live for a long time (whatever that means), Hazel lives tethered to an oxygen tank, the tumours tenuously kept at bay with a constant chemical assault.
Enter Augustus Waters. A match made at cancer kid support group, Augustus is gorgeous, in remission, and shockingly to her, interested in Hazel. Being with Augustus is both an unexpected destination and a long-needed journey, pushing Hazel to re-examine how sickness and health, life and death, will define her and the legacy that everyone leaves behind.

NOT A REVIEW AT ALL.

Dear Mr. Green.

Let me introduce myself as your new and happy reader. I just finished reading your amazing book The fault in our stars, yesterday. And since then, I was trying to be brave to write something for you.
Since one of my best friends told me I have to read this book, I was dying to read it ASAP, but I live in a country with no-good-bookstores no-English-books.  So, I had to wait till I can buy my e-copy. And for the first time in my whole life I got really mad about e-book, cuz if it wasn’t for them, I would have to wait to read the print copy of this book, which could be like HEAVEN!
I don’t want you to get bored with this “letter” I just want to thank you for this amazing-incredible-wonderful-beautiful book.
The fault in our stars had been the best book I have read this year. It made think a lot about my life, about all the shits I’m doing… about dead, about love and about my auto-loneliness.
Just to say. Yesterday, just some minutes after I finished reading the book. I realized two people died in my so-little town. One of them, and old musician I liked a lot. And guess what… I started crying like a baby. But it wasn’t about them! IT WAS BECAUSE OF GUS!!!! And it made me feel like a selfish bitch!

I can’t even describe how mad I was because of the ending of the book. I think I insulted you very bad! (Sorry!)… But then, it hits me!  And I started laughing cuz I realized that I LOVED that ending!!! I started to ask about Hazel, about her parents… Just like Hazel about Anna!
Well, this book really touched me!
I loved every word, every line… I loved those wonderful characters you created. They are an example for those of us who are spending our lives in useless things.
In fact, I will never be able to thank you enough for the chance to read this amazing piece of art.
Thank you very much!
Your little Latin fan
Lis.

I know, this book gave me all the feelings, all at once! John Green actually has a secret Tumblr, access details (and ramblings) posted on my blog. Also, Rhapsody in Books posted a really thoughtful review a while back.
